Don’t Limit Your Dreams! Dream Big.

dream mapI was given an opportunity to participate in a 10 week leadership class with a wonderful group of women. Since I’ve been struggling lately about what I can do in my life to help figure out and follow my dreams, I was so excited to have this chance fall into my lap!  Not to mention that it gives me the opportunity to learn how to best help others do the same with their own dreams. It must be meant to be.

Each week the group gets together to work on a leadership “law”, discuss, and we also have homework. You can’t learn to be a leader without a bit of self introspection and work. Anything worth having takes work. This week’s homework assignment was to begin mapping out our dreams. Obviously there’s no way to chase your dreams if you don’t know what they are.

I sat down with my blank piece of paper and began writing. It took a bit, but I didn’t think about what I was writing as it came to mind. I just wrote. As I did this, I found that there were three or four dreams that I started to write down and realized that I had already written them. Wow, light bulb moment. Those are the dreams I should chase after first! The strongest ones.

If you’re curious about the book we’re using, you can check out The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership: Follow Them and People Will Follow You. Give it a try yourself. Sit down and just start writing out your dreams. Are there any that keep repeating? Are there themes? What format did you use to put them on paper?

What are your dreams? I’d love to hear them or see a picture.
