Some of you have seen my protein shake recipes and emailed to ask what brand of protein shake I use. I’ve tried quite a few protein powders in the past – ranging from cheap vitamin store brands to expensive mail order brands and some middle of the road varieties. It’s very hard to find a protein powder that doesn’t contain additives that I don’t want like artificial sweeteners.
It’s even harder to find one that actually tastes good and doesn’t upset my stomach. I even considered trying a “create your own” protein powder site that allowed me to customize my shakes without all the stuff I didn’t want. Then I realized their shipping cost was almost as much as the shake itself. No go!
I kept googling and found out about Isagenix in March. They had a variety of shakes, supplements, and vitamins, and I decided to give their shakes a try. I started with the IsaLean shakes, and those are the ones that I use most often in my recipes since they contain a mix of carbs and protein for energy and muscle growth without a ton of calories. They also have IsaPro which is higher in protein that I’ll sometimes use if I’m running short on protein for the day.
The protein they use is a combination of whey protein concentrate and casein protein from pasture-fed cows in New Zealand that aren’t treated with hormones or antibiotics. The shakes contain lower lactose levels and a better amino acid profile than many other shakes out there. I like that it doesn’t upset my digestion like some shakes have done before. There are also no artificial sweeteners or weird after taste.
I’ve been drinking an IsaLean shake for breakfast most days since March and haven’t touched another protein powder since. I can’t decide if I like the chocolate or vanilla flavor better. Isagenix offers autoship so I have canisters sent to me every 30 days which is pretty convenient and doesn’t take me remembering or a trip to the store. The shakes also come in packets if you like single serving sizes better.
Isagenix offers lots of other benefits to their customers. I got a free sample box of products since I’ve been on autoship for 3 months. It gave me a chance to try out some of their other products to see what I liked without committing to a whole box. There are also other bonus products the longer I stay on autoship. I liked their products so much that I decided to move from customer to associate so that I can take advantage of their wholesale prices and save some money.
There are currently two contests going on that you can join in. The IsaBody Challenge is underway and has great prizes like cash, photoshoots, and cruises. I love looking at the before and after pictures of the past winners. It’s not just about losing weight when participating but creating a positive lifestyle. They’ve got a great support system with ideas for healthy food choices, exercise plans, audio recordings, support calls and more. The calls are really motivating to listen to!
There is also a special 60 Day Transformation Challenge that you’ve got until June 30th to get in on. There are great prizes for the winners of this contest too. If you’re interested in either (or both!) contests, please email me at adriannec69 [at] gmail [dot] com. I can give you more information or get you signed up. Yes, you can do both contests. I’ve got to take my before pictures and measurements myself.
You can check out the Isagenix products and read more information about the benefits of each product and FAQs. If you have questions about anything, let me know. I’d love to see you win!
