And The Weekend Winds Down

Smores CresentsPhew, it’s been a busy weekend here to wind down a busy week. If you’ve been keeping up with me this week, I completed the following workouts despite my body being allergic to working out:

  • Five various yoga classes at 60 – 90 minutes each
  • Six brisk walks of Thing Two for 2 miles each
  • Two stronglift sessions in my new garage gym
  • Two cardio interval sessions (more on that in a sec)
  • One welcome back session with Trainer Man

I think I did pretty good this week and my eating was great too. The scale has dropped again but hopefully it is fat and not muscle. I check in with Trainer Man tomorrow to find out for sure. I’ll keep you posted.

As mentioned above, I found a great cardio interval workout in Muscle & Fitness magazine that I did this week. It went by pretty quickly and burned a good amount of calories by getting my heart rate up. I used a light barbell so that it was for cardio and not lifting, and did 6 reps of each exercise for 4 rounds.

  1. Deadlifts
  2. Romanian Deadlifts
  3. Bent Over Rows
  4. Power Cleans
  5. Front Squats
  6. Push Presses
  7. Back Squats

The magazine laid out the exercise order really well. With the last rep of each exercise, you were basically in the position already for the next. Very little position adjustments necessary and you use the same barbell weight for all of them.

The Kid had a friend over this weekend for a sleepover and Twilight movie marathon. I got creative for breakfast this morning and made cresent smores. I laid out each of the cresent rolls and topped with mini marshmallows and chocolate chips. I then rolled them up and baked them according to the can.

They must have been good because the two of them ate them all in about 5 minutes. Did you keep busy this weekend?
