AJ was an online training and nutrition client located in Maryland who had already lost quite a bit of weight on his own when he found me. He wanted a bit more structure to his workouts as well as more food since he was doing the typical low calorie diet and was having hunger and cheating issues. Since the start, he continued his weight loss (and has eaten lots more along the way!). He lost another 45+ lbs with me and hit his 100 lb total loss mark as well.
AJ’s Before and After pictures show what is possible to achieve on the outside with the right nutrition and a proven training program but they don’t begin to show the internal changes that I saw in our time together. On our journey, I saw him grow and change in his confidence and abilities.
A few months in I had him try running sprints and he ended up so sore the following days. When he told me about it, I noticed a change in his wording. Instead of saying he couldn’t do them, he told me he wasn’t ready yet but would try them again soon. Towards the end of our year together, he signed up for his first 5k and we added training for that in.
He completely blew me away with his running progress and he’ll have no problem finishing come race day. He described himself as a “quitter” but I never once saw that side of him. He came ready to learn, asked lots of questions, and didn’t miss a single workout. I’m proud to watch him head off on his own, because I know he’ll continue on and do well.

1. What’s something that you’d like me to start or stop doing?
I truly did not have any experience with you that made me think “I wish she would have done this differently or wouldn’t have done this at all.” I believe everything you tested me with was done for a reason and it has helped me progress toward my goal much better than I could have imagined.
2. What’s one thing that you’d like me to keep doing?
I like that you are so interactive with me. If I have a question, you always have an answer and an explanation behind your reasoning. I like that you take my feedback seriously and adjust my workouts and nutrition accordingly.
3. Can you describe any reservations that you had before we started working together?
I was nervous to trust someone else to help me with my fitness journey because it’s a personal thing, and I never really openly discussed my weight or health issues before this. I was also a self-described quitter before I started this program so that was worrisome as well.
4. Can you explain how I was able to help you with your reservations?
Three sentences cannot do what you have given me or have done for me justice. You have helped me grow physically and more importantly mentally stronger. You have helped me with my insecurities and have helped me feel so much better about myself.

You have given me the tools to change my life forever. I will always be using something from this program in my training and it will always be the foundation of my nutrition. I can never thank you enough for everything you’ve done for me. You’ve helped me grow into a stronger, healthier, more confident person. I know if I have questions about anything, you’ll always be there for me and if I ever need help with my stuff again in the future, I know I can count on you for help. At first you were my trainer, but with everything you’ve done for me I know consider you a part of my family and a best friend. I owe everything I’ve been able to accomplish to you. I’ll always be grateful for what you’ve done for me and I’ll never forget it.
