The day before my contest in June, I had a photoshoot with a real live professional photographer. It was my first photoshoot ever besides at places like The Picture People, Target and such. Those don’t really count in my book. This was with a hair and make up person, fancy camera lenses, lighting and all that!
I finally got the pictures about a week ago and I’ve been pondering whether or not to post all of them for public viewing. Actually just one in particular. I’m not really sure who all reads my blog and the thought has crossed my mind about work people passing through.
I don’t want to offend anyone from work that may be reading what I post. I’m friends with many of them on Facebook, and the link here is on my personal Facebook page. I don’t publicize my blog there though, so unless they’ve happened across it they probably don’t know it even exists.
A few close friends from work have seen the pictures and a couple of them were even at the show to see me in action. I decided to go ahead and post them because I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished. I set my sights on a goal and didn’t stop until I got there!
Fitness Blog World – What’s Next for Me: Goals for the Short and Long Term
I was talking with a co-worker yesterday about needing a new goal since I work better with a date. If I don’t have a date, there’s less motivation for me to stay on track. Little cheats get in here and there, and they add up. Once I have a date, I’m spot on. It’s a different mindset and I’m very goal fixated.
It’s too soon to do another contest right now, both financially and body-wise since I need more muscle. He suggested that I pick a date for a photoshoot and aim for that as a short term goal. I thought that was a brilliant idea! So I’m going to be looking at the calendar and choosing a good time for another photoshoot. Once I pick a date, I’ll let you know officially.
My long term goal is to do another contest and win that trophy this time! I am moving up from bikini class to figure class which requires less model walking and fancy packaging (I suck at that) and more muscle and flexed posing (hopefully I suck less at this). I don’t think I’ll be ready until next year for figure class and then I plan to give ’em a run for their money. I’ll be leaving with hardware to display in my living room for sure this time.
If you live in the DFW area and need an awesome photographer, Shannon Skinner at Premiere Images is the best! I’ll be happy to get you in touch with him. I think I’ve put enough filler text at this point, so if you do not want to see my scantily clad backside do not scroll down further. Turn back and we will never speak of it again… 😉
Your pictures look great and you really should be proud of what you have accomplished. You have some great goals and I look forward to watching your journey to the figure stage.
Thanks Dawn! I still can’t believe I did it sometimes. It was so worth it and a great accomplishment for the scrapbook. I’m grateful to have everyone to cheer me on as I head back to the stage again!
Hi! Just catching up with my FBW gals – thanks for posting! Your photos look amazing – I think photo shoots are a great way to stay on track! And I’ll be cheering you on to the Figure stage! All the best 🙂
Thanks, Alli! I enjoy being a part of FBW so much and like reading everyone’s viewpoint on our questions. It helps me realize how alike we really are and also has given me new things to think about many times. So glad you dropped by!
