Cake in Ball Form

Cake BallsOne of my friends has a blog and a couple weeks ago she mentioned that she tried something called cake balls. Being the cake addict that I am, I was quite intrigued but put it out of my mind. Meh, too far to drive for over priced balls of cake. That is until Wednesday, when once again Living Social made me an offer I couldn’t refuse. Half price cake balls! I could almost hear the angels singing. A voucher for six cake balls was quickly mine.

Since I was off work yesterday, I decided to make the venture out to The Cake Ball Company to redeem my voucher. It was quite a hike and wasn’t in the best part of town. Somewhere east of 75 off of Northwest Hwy. Interestingly enough, when I got there the door was locked and I had to ring a doorbell to be let in. Hmmm, at least the cake balls were secure. The balls were pre-packaged for the voucher special in a beautiful brown box, and they looked like chocolate truffles. Truffle sized and truffle look. I tried one when I got back home and it wasn’t bad. Very moist inside and quite tasty. The others await me in the freezer for the next time a cake craving hits.

Since The Kid is gone, I decided to spend today cleaning the house. This is the best time of year to do it since this is the only time there isn’t someone coming along behind me to mess it up. I spent the last 12 hours cleaning from top to bottom. We are talking nuclear cleaning. Everything removed from the room, baseboards wiped, curtains washed, room vaccuumed, and then everything returned. Twelve hours and I’m exhausted, but you should smell the house. It smells so good!

Tomorrow I plan to sleep in to make up for today. I also got a couple new Chalean Extreme workouts and want to try at least one, if not two. These are the DVDs that were done as an add on to the deluxe set. The two I’m most interested in are the Extreme Intervals and Flow Yoga. Intervals are one of my favorites since you cram an hour’s workout into half the time and burn a ton of calories. I’m not big on yoga, but I’m interested to see how it works with Chalene’s bubbly personality. If anyone can convince me to like it, I’m sure she would be the one.

For the rest of the evening though, I plan to sit here watching Transformers and hoping that someone magically shows up on my doorstep with a bottle of wine. Wishful thinking on my part, but hope springs eternal!
