What’s Your Theme Song Today?

itunesI confess that it’s all about the music in a lot of things I do. I mentally pick a theme song on bad or potentially bad days. I guess it’s a lucky charm of sorts. What do you call it when ball players have something they do before every game to ensure they win? I can’t think of it at the moment, but it’s like that and it really works.

We were in the car the other night and a song came on the radio. It was a typical type of song that I would sing along to but I was refraining because it embarrasses The Kid now that she’s getting older. She knows me so well that she turned to me, sighed and said “Go ahead and sing along. You know you want to.” Ha! There was even eye rolling involved as I gleefully broke into song.

I like an off the wall mix of music most days to liven the mood. I thought you might like a secret peek into my workout playlist from the other night. The songs tend to match my sense of humor and get me dancing on the stepper even when I think I can step no more. Most (OK, all) aren’t great hits, but they keep me moving since they’re funny and have a peppy beat.

Adrianne’s Cardio Playlist

  • Fat Bottomed Girls – Queen
  • You Shook Me All Night Long – AC/DC
  • I Wanna Be A Cowboy – Boys Don’t Cry
  • Get Low – Lil Jon & The East Side Boyz
  • Everlong – Foo Fighters
  • Low – Flo Rida
  • You Never Even Called Me By My Name – David Allan Coe
  • Sexy Chick (or the other version) – David Guetta

You haven’t lived until you hear me belt out David Allan Coe complete with arm gestures. 😉 What do you have on your playlist? If you had to pick a theme song for your day today, what would it be?

  1. My songs that really get me movin’ in my workouts are
    – “My Name is Jonas” by Weezer (7.5 mph steady beat on treadmill for me)
    – “Sexy Chick” or the other version!
    – “Sexy Back” JT
    – “She Bangs” Ricky Martin (that one is my guilty pleasure….i am embarrassed at how much I love it!)
    – “My Apocolypse” Metallica (which matches my normal taste in music)

But my song of the day today is “You’ve got to Move it, Move it” from that kids’ movie…Madagascar, I think. I am stuck at home with the car in the shop, so I am tryin to get things done around here!!

I’ve got a few of those in my playlists too. I love the boy bands for when I’m running. Now I’m going to have King Julian stuck in my head today! 😉

  2. I really need to update my music list. I will do that when I get the clear to workout again.

My song today would have to be Christina Aguilera ~ Candyman

That’s a good song! I had to check it out on YouTube since I hadn’t heard it before. How’s your foot doing? Has the doctor told you how long it will be before you can get back? I hope you’re doing OK and getting better fast!
